My lovely friend Jane has a blog, and believe me, this is one you want to be following!
Jane is getting married in August (and I’m one of her bridesmaids!) and her blog is called Marriage & Marmalade. Already, she has written three beautiful posts. I’m linking to them all because seriously, the girl can write!
- No, I’m Not Pregnant, I know I’m Only 22 and We Aren’t Moving In Together
- Submission Isn’t Bad And I’ll Tell You Why
- He Will Never Forget You, Not Even In The Emergency Room
The worst part of being single on St Valentine’s Day isn’t the being single. It’s the everyone trying to reassure you there’s nothing wrong being single.
I wasn’t worried until you told me not to worry! Now, I’m all like, oh… am I supposed to worry
*worries about worrying enough*
Continuing the St Valentine’s theme, my top post this week was 40 Catholic Pick-Up Lines!
Is there a Catholic nerd in your life who needs a little love? Maybe it’s time to tell them that their beauty leaves you apophetic, they smell as good as St Pio’s stigmata… and then invite them to join you on the threshing floor. *completely inappropriate winky face*
A convenience store is never the place to ask a girl out.
That is my advice of the week.
One of my favourite romance series (written in the last ten years) is on sale this week! Even better, the first (and best) is FREE! The Daughters of Boston series is about an Irish Catholic family in early 20th C Boston. It’s beautifully written, with plenty of romance, betrayal and giggles. (As is only right!)
Romance is such a tricky category, and we have to be savvy in our reading, but I found these delightful. The characters are well-drawn, their faith feels more realistic than most, and the story-line isn’t just focused on the romance. It’s about all sorts of love. Plus, they’re Catholic you know!
- A Passion Most Pure (The Daughters of Boston Book #1) ($0.00)
- A Passion Redeemed (The Daughters of Boston Book #2) ($3.40)
- A Passion Denied (The Daughters of Boston Book #3) ($3.40)
I will greatly rejoice in the Lord,
my whole being shall exult in my God;
for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation,
he has covered me with the robe of righteousness,
as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland,
and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
