On 13th May, Pope Francis will have pope for a WHOLE year!
Cradio, a Australian Catholic media site, asked some young Catholics what their favourite Pope Francis moment is. (You should defs check out Cradio which has lots of great podcasts — also like them on Facebook and follow on Twitter.)
I think for all of us, it’s tough to pick just one Pope Francis moment — but these are my top three.
#3 When Pope Francis washed and kissed the feet of prisoners on Maundy Thursday
I know some people were a bit scandalised by this (something about canon law I think) but I loved it. Here we see the pope loving people in a way actually get. This is what Jesus would have done.
#2 When Pope Francis embraced this disfigured man
I cried when I saw this picture of the pope embracing a disfigured man, covered in boils. In it, I see the compassion of Christ but also my own sin — because I don’t think I could ever do that. That just makes me even more thankful for the mercy of God.
#3 When Pope Francis Totally Got Upstaged by a Little Boy in Yellow
What’s your favourite (or favourite 3!) Pope Francis moment?
I’ve added a link-up if you want to share or comment below. I’d love to know!
