Lord, what am I meant to do with my life? Where is it all going? How will it all turn out? Will it all be okay? Whenever I ask God about the future, the answer always comes back.
One day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day.
I want to plan it all, see it all, experience it all. I want to a thousand years and to know how each will unfold. I fool myself into believing that knowledge is security. If only I knew how things would be, all will be well.
But all will well, all manner of things will be well.
Not because I know but because I am known. I am known by the Lord. A thousand years is as a day, and a day is as a thousand years to Him who is patient beyond patience with me.
This is the day the Lord has made.
This is the day He asks me to live.
This day, I receive from my loving Father bread for this day, daily bread — the bread of life come down from heaven. Christ is my Today. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
As long as it is called today, Christ will be with me and be my hope.
I don’t need to know how things shall turn out or be okay. I am known by Christ and all my days are written in His book, “the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.” (Ps 139:16)
He is my Today.
And with Him, all things shall be well.
